Nadeeka Karunaratne, MA, RYT-200, is a current doctoral student in the Higher Education & Organizational Change program at UCLA. She conducts research on issues of campus sexual violence, including exploring the experiences of women of color survivors, the environment of healing programs, and the campus climate for prevention. She previously worked in the Cross-Cultural Center and as the Violence Prevention Coordinator at the UC Irvine. She received her Master’s in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University (MSU) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from UC Berkeley. She served as a crisis-intervention advocate for the campus-based Sexual Assault Program while at MSU. Additionally, she is a trauma-informed yoga instructor and has led healing yoga programs on college campuses and in the community.
