Kalani is an MPH candidate at UC Irvine with an emphasis in Sociocultural Diversity & Health. She is currently helping with a research project to look at the prevalence of COVID-19 antibodies among first responders. Moreover, she is assisting with another study exploring the attitudes and beliefs surrounding e-cigarette use among young adults. She is a member of the Health & Justice Advocates of UCI, on a task force to dismantle systemic racism at UCI, was a student ambassador for the UCGHI Planetary Health COE this past year, and is the Vice Chair for the UCI Student Center Board of Advisors. This past Summer, she was a DTEI Grad Fellow, helping faculty prepare for remote learning and assisting with course design, and volunteered for the ActOC study as well as the UCI Public Health Chatline. Kalani is also a strong advocate for mental health and sexual abuse prevention, which is why she is so excited to be a part of this project.
