Taking Action in Campus Sexual Assault Prevention Efforts
Sexual assault and intimate partner violence are prevalent on college campuses throughout California and the U.S. Students exposed to violence are less likely to achieve full health and well-being, during college and beyond. College campuses should be environments that foster health, promote safety, and prevent relationship violence before it occurs. College campuses should advance students, not hinder their potential for success.
We recognize the high prevalence of unhealthy relationships and dating violence among college-aged women, LGBTQ+ folks, and vulnerable populations. Despite such evidence, college students face missing links between their experiences and the campus resources and policies intended to support them.
OUR VISION, MISSION & VALUES
OUR VISION
Our vision is for all college and university campuses to be environments where sexual assault and dating violence are prevented and where survivors are supported with dignity and compassion.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to conduct public health research to understand the interplay of individual, interpersonal, and structural (cultural, community, and institutional) factors that shape intimate relationships and sexual and interpersonal violence among students. Using this knowledge to develop and test interventions and policies, that are based on scientific evidence, we aim to improve the health, safety and well-being of all members of the University of California community.
OUR VALUES
Student-centered, Evidence-based, Healing-centered, Intersectionality, Inclusivity
