Preventing Abuse Through Film
About Courage First
Courage First
Courage First is a sexual abuse prevention program that educates adults and teens about abuse and predatory behavior and focuses on violence that occurs within sport. Courage First supports youth-serving organizations and institutions in creating safe and abuse-free environments for children and teens.
Collaborating with survivors and leading national child abuse prevention partners, Courage First provides online learning tools like podcasts, blogs and videos to educate around the less-obvious signs of sexual abuse. To honor the Sister Survivors featured in At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal (ATHOG), Courage First offers universities, organizations, and communities the opportunity to screen the film and discuss the complexities around sexual assault on campus and in sport.
