Nina Suh-Toma is working towards a Bachelor of Science in Global Health at UCSD. She interned for Christopher Barnes in his quest to find a cure for HIV using crystallography at the Bjorkman Lab at the California Institute of Technology. She volunteered for over four years at a nonprofit agency providing a 24-hour crisis line, emergency and transitional shelters, and comprehensive intervention and prevention programs targeting immigrant Asian and Pacific Islander survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Nina is also passionate about preserving and appreciating nature and works as a guide for Outback Adventures at UCSD.
