Projects You Should Know About

Brittnie Bloom and Christine Wenzel, Let’s Talk About Sex… Education: A qualitative study on the relationship between pre-college sexual health education and experiences of sexual violence during college.

SUMMARY OF RESEARCH
This research is led by two Student Research Interns at UCSD, Brittnie Bloom (a PhD student in public health) and Christine Wenzel (an Eleanor Roosevelt College undergraduate scholar studying global health) and their advisor, Jennifer Wagman, MHS, PhD. With help from undergraduates Atreyi Mitra (UCLA) and Vidhisha Mahesh (UCSB), we work to better understand how pre-college sex education might impact health outcomes while in college. Our work is currently being supported by the UC Global Health Institute’s Women’s Health, Gender and Empowerment Center of Expertise and the Western Region Public Health Training Center Internship Fund.
